FINAL UPDATE
Our Reconciliation Action Plan 2019 - 2020 is a strategic document involving all areas of the organisation, the plan was launched on the 5 June 2019.
This RAP provides an opportunity for Council to continue to build its capacity to support and sustain reconciliation outcomes across the City of Logan. By continuing its reconciliation journey, Council also aims to demonstrate leadership and encourage other local organisations and businesses to commence their own journey of reconciliation.
If you would like to know more information about our RAP, please contact us on 3412 3412 or email council@logan.qld.gov.au
Council is currently collating feedback from the public consultation phase and making appropriate amendments to the draft RAP document. Council is also working collaboratively with Reconciliation Australia to ensure our RAP document meets the national RAP framework requirements.
Public consultation was open from 7 November - 9 December 2018.
Logan City Council is home to a diverse group of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, including descendants from Traditional Custodians as well as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from across Australia.
Council's first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) provided a solid foundation for ongoing commitments to building stronger relationships, respect and opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities. We intend to continue building upon the achievements from our first RAP through implementation of the Reconciliation Action Plan 2019-2020. The draft RAP guides how Council can continue to work towards reconciliation across the City of Logan.
