Consultation has now concluded

Logan City Council is proposing an amendment to the Logan Planning Scheme 2015 to vary the policy position for Auxiliary units. Five changes are proposed, being:

  1. a minimum lot size of 450m2
  2. where fronting a road, a minimum frontage of 15m
  3. where fronting a road, a minimum of five on-site car parking spaces
  4. where fronting a road, driveways are to have a minimum 5.5m width for their full extent (from the kerb invert to the garage)
  5. the strengthening of siting provisions to minimise siting variations unless where necessitated by existing infrastructure

The minimum lot size requirement is proposed to be made part of the definition for 'Auxiliary Unit'.

The minimum frontage, on-site car parking and siting requirements will be included in the Dual Occupancy and Dwelling House Code.

The minimum driveway width requirement will be made park of Planning Scheme Policy 5 - Infrastructure.
