Consultation concluded and feedback is under review

Amendments to the proposed new waste management local law were made as a result of the submissions recieved. Once in effect, the new waste mangement local law can be found HERE.

Previous consultation phase

Logan City Council have developed a proposed new local law relating to waste management.

The primary purpose of the draft local law is to replicate the provisions of section 7 of the Waste Reduction & Recycling Regulation 2011 and Chapter 5A of the Environmental Protection Regulation 2008, which are currently due to expire on 30 June 2018.

Because the proposed new waste management local law contains anti-competitive provisions, Council has developed a Public Interest Test Plan. There are also required amendments for two existing local laws to accommodate the new waste management local law.

We invite anyone to take this opportunity to review and provide feedback on the proposed new waste management local law, the Public Interest Test Plan and the resulting amendments to existing local laws.

Please review all documents to the right of the page and provide feedback below.
