A long term Master Plan has been developed for Lowe Oval incorporating community feedback as well as input from key stakeholders and specialist consultants. The Final Master Plan was endorsed by Council on 17 April 2018.

The key changes following the public consultation phase include:

  • Ensuring the aquatic centre design and proposal provides a range of facilities to cater for a broad range of users and age groups;
  • Ensuring the proposed playground equipment caters for a variety of age groups;
  • Ensuring pedestrian / cycle connections within the site and broader connectivity;
  • Review the fitness stations design and proposal;
  • Ensuring the car parking requirements meets the projected need for the site; and
  • A review of the designs against the safety and noise concerns of nearby residents.

The key elements of the Master Plan include:

  • Relocation of the AFL club from the site to an alternate site;
  • Improvements to the aquatic centre;
  • The redevelopment of new main Logan North Aquatic and Fitness Centre building;
  • The staged development of a recreation park (current AFL oval);
  • The development of a central plaza connecting major zones including the library, aquatic centre and recreation park; and
  • Car parking and access improvements.

Please note, the Master Plan is a vision of the future of Lowe Oval, providing a long-term concept for the anticipated future needs of the community. It is expected that the plan would be developed in stages over the next 10 - 20 years.
